Sunflowers in the Loire Valley
For those of you who love sunflowers we can report that we are hearing from our farmer friends that they have just been sown in the Loire Valley. Typically they'll be in flower in the last three weeks of July and first week of August. For the moment, if you are in a rural area and hear what sounds like a gunshot or an explosion, don't panic. It will be a gas gun in a field just sown with sunflowers, and the purpose is to scare the pigeons not you.
