Why Visit the Loire Valley in February?

The weather from November to January tends to be cold and wet in the Loire Valley, whereas in February we often experience a period of cold but dry weather. This means intense blue skies and bright sunshine, but temperatures between -5° and +5° celsius. This is crisp and cold. One of the few wild flowers that thrives in conditions like this are snowdrops. They are native to the Loire Valley and their flowers are something we all look forward to, as a harbinger of spring.

So don't hesitate to visit the Loire Valley in February. Rug up warm and book a walking tour. You will get some fabulous photos of some lovely things.

Where Can You See Exceptional Old Stained Glass in the Loire Valley?

One of the best kept secrets of the Loire Valley is that Tours has been a centre for stained glass production for centuries. Although much of the historic stained glass in the Loire Valley was destroyed in World War II, there are some exceptional examples of medieval and renaissance windows around if you know where to look. We will be delighted to include some lovely survivors in your itinerary if you let us know this is what you are interested in.
